Art is an integral part of my life. I feel driven by a spiritual and primal desire to create, to increase my technical skills and capacity for expression. In my artistic endeavors, I’ve sought to capture a glimpse of the spiritual essence so vital to our existence. Art speaks to universal consciousness working below our awareness, a philosophical dialogue between creator and viewer. I am intrigued by the force that animates an individual, the spirit that radiates through facial features, creates dynamic expression in art, and guides us through deepening states of enlightenment. I am interested not only in the beauty of the individual but also in the flaws, secrets and darker side we conceal from others.

Color, texture, light and shadow create spiritual planes for exploration, whether the art takes the form of abstraction, portraiture, figure painting or landscape. I use a variety of media to support a flexible creative process. The sublime plays a vital role in my work, illustrating the tension, passion, focus and intensity required to make the journey inward in our lifelong quest to self-discovery.
